Robert
Burns MBE who works for Lancashire
Constabulary's computer department, has been made
an MBE in the New Years Honours 2011. He helped
create a computer system called SLEUTH, which has
helped the force in tackling crime. Robert, 52,
said: "I feel very honoured to receive such
an award. For someone in the Information and
Communication Technology (ICT) department to
receive an award such as this for services to the
police makes me feel very proud."

Sgt. Samuel James
Whittingham DFM who was a Prescot
Grammar School boy from 1930 to 1935. During the
Second World War, he was awarded the
Distinguished Flying Medal for his bravery in an
air raid over the strategic French Atlantic Coast
port of St. Nazaire, which was heavily defended

appointed Royal Air Force Equerry to The Prince
of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, in 2006. A
former pupil of Prescot School, she received the
