After seven very successful years in
Young Enterprise, and with a total of nineteen
companies, 2001 saw Prescot School achieve its
highest accumulation of awards in the programme.
Always successful - the school has produced the
Best Overall Company in Knowsley six times - this
year one of the groups was chosen to represent
Merseyside at the Young Enterprise European Trade
Fair in Stavonger, Norway. |

Matrix
2001, led by Managing Director, Jornes McKenzie,
were chosen to go after submitting on application
form and a business plan to the Knowsley YE Area
Board. They impressed the board with their
product - on up-dated version of the traditional
game, Nine Man's Morris, which they turned into a
travel game using a CD case and re-named Matrix. |
They spent
a week in Norway during which time they attended
the Trade Fair, visited a petroleum museum and,
in the case of the Managing Director, got to meet
the Crown Prince of Norway, Prince Haakon. James
was actually picked to represent the whole of the
United Kingdom! |

The company rounded off their YE
year by winning the Best Product Award at the
Knowsley Area Board Presentation Evening. High
Flyers, the school's second company picked up the
award for Best Presentation, whilst the third
group, Daydream, were awarded the Best Display
trophy, Best Overall Company and their Managing
Director, Dan Taylor, was judged Achiever of the
Year. |
